🏆 Footy IQ – The Ultimate Bragging Metric
We’ve updated our algorithm and launched a metric-based IQ system that tracks your prediction quality as well as assigns higher value to accurate and bold stakes.
Why the Upgrade?
Footy IQ isn’t just about being right or bold. It’s not just tipping winners —it’s about reading the game. This element was mission in 2024, but we got for 2025.
What do we mean? 🏉 You know the moment —Your fullback is creeping short side, the marker is gassed, and you just know what’s coming. Now, our algorithm rewards that game awareness with a Play Score that counts towards your IQ.
🔹 If you predict what’s happening before it happens, you should rightly show off that IQ.
How Footy IQ is Scored
Your Footy IQ score is based on:
✅ Weekly Tipping Score (within a SZN)
✅ Prediction Accuracy (how often you’re right)
✅ Prediction Boldness (risk vs. reward)
✅ Prediction Creation (accuracy + boldness)
✅ Participation Bonus (the more you engage, the higher your score)
📈 Participation Boost: Making 5 predictions and casting 20 votes over a weekend can increase your score by 10%.

How a TBC Live Footy IQ SZN Works
TBC Live breaks the season into 5-week blocks we call SZN’s—mini-seasons within the season.
💡 Every NRL game on TBC Live is an event where you:
✔ Tip pre-game
✔ Predict live
✔ Vote on predictions
✔ Banter with fans
For each event (live and pre-game), you earn:
🔥 Accuracy & Boldness Scores (based on voting)
🎯 Tip Score (based on who you tipped & match outcome)
🚀 Play Score (based on how accurate and bold your created predictions were)
📈 More votes = an IQ boost
Example: Voting on 30 predictions is gives your score a noticeable pump.

Leaderboard Breakdown
The leaderboard tracks your position in four key areas:
📌 Weekly Scores – Reflects your event score each round (based on votes, stakes & returns). Event and weekly winners go into the draw for Grand Final tickets.
📌 Weekly IQ – The smartest footy fan of the round. The Weekly IQ winner gets entered into the Grand Final ticket draw.
📌 Ranked IQ – Your overall IQ performance throughout an SZN. Each season, we’re giving away ~$250 worth of kit to top IQ scorer + entry into the GF ticket draw.
📌 Tipping Rankings – TBC Live’s top tippers will compete for a $1,000 Grand Final bundle at season’s end.
